The Woodford 5

This is the original stove in the collection (shown in the picture), it is suitable for any installation type. It has a nominal heat output of 4.9KW. It is an extremely efficient stove with advanced clean burn technology (see below for definition). Along with its smooth clean lines it makes it the number one choice for homeowners and installers. This stoves complies with a 12mm Hearth and has a built in Airwash system (see below for definition).

The Woodford 5 Widescreen

The Woodford 5 Wide is their widescreen version of the classic 5KW, still at 4.9KW, the wide gives a panoramic view of the fire and suits a larger fireplace opening to give a more balanced look.

The Woodford 7

Like the woodford 5/5 widescreen. The Woodford 7 is one of the original stoves in the collection, and is suitable for any installation type. At 7KW nominal output it will fit any standard room and fireplace opening, and will truly be the focal point of any home.

Airwash Technology

Airwash technology brings a flow of air into the firebox of your wood burner from a vent above the glass panel. The air is immediately forced directly downwards over the inside of the door. This creates a layer air which 'washes' over the glass at all times. Flames and gases are both kept at bay by this constant flow of air, which prevents tar building up and causing the glass to blacken. Airwash saves you a lot of hard work trying to get your glass clean, and allows you to sit back and enjoy the clear view of the fire (gr8fires.co.uk. 2012).

Cleanburn Technology

Cleanburn is a system by which hot air is introduced into the firebox just above the normal height of the fire. This allows the combustion of unburned hydrocarbons in the smoke stream. This, in turn, provides not only a 'cleaner burn' (i.e. less soot particles going up the chimney/flue and into the atmosphere) but, also allows the user to enjoy even more flames (Stovax & Gazco 2018)

Midtherm Flue systems Ltd offer a complete range of stainless steel flue systems (including twin wall and black powder coated) for all kinds of appliances from Wood Burning stoves to large commercial boilers. A flue is a duct pipe, or opening in a chimney for conveying exhaust gases from a fireplace, furnace, water heater, boiler or generator to the outdoors.

Flue Systems

These are the pipes that take fumes away from your stove and provide fresh air for the fuel to burn efficiently. Midtherm flue systems offer a complete range of stainless steel flue systems (including twin wall and coloured vitreous enamel) for all kinds of appliances. A flue system can be constructed using a series of pipes and components to convey the gases from the appliance or open fire to the outdoors.

Key reasons for use of appropriate Flue Liners:

1) stop the products of combustion from corroding brick chimney

2) reducing the possibility of and containing chimney fires

3) enabling efficient maintenance of a chimney

4) insulated flue improves the efficiency of the appliance

Where there is no existing chimney then a Twin Walled stainless steel flue system is required. The pipes on a wood burning stove can become extremely hot and twin wall (i.e. double-insulated pipes) protect the ceiling; walls and roof from the heat transferring through the pipes and creating a potential fire hazard.Twin wall systems are used for both interior and exterior flue systems and are also suitable for multi-fuel appliances. These are more complex systems and subject to building control regulations, therefor it is always recommended that a professional HETAS registered installer is used to fit the stove and flue system.

The right flue system ensures your appliance is safe and reliable as well as efficient, creating the right draw of air to ensure all gases are taken up the flue system.

Here at Stovesworld Cardiff Midtherm Flue Systems Ltd is the chosen company that we use for all our wood burning installs, and we are confident the products are well designed and manufactured to the highest quality and standards possible.

Introduction to 'Invicta'- Exceptional quality, French made Wood Burning Stoves

Introduction to 'Invicta'- Exceptional quality, French made Wood Burning Stoves

Embodying a perfect balance of history, craft and country. French manufacturer Invicta (meaning 'unvanquished') is Europe's largest manufacturer of Cast Iron fireplaces.

The Invicta foundry is located in France's Champagne-Ardenne region, the country's traditional home of metalworking. Founded in 1924, Invicta was a 'quiet-achiever' until Maverick CEO Jean-Pierre Dupire took the reigns a decade ago. Dupire, took the brand to another level prior to his retirement in 2013, and Invicta's market research continues to grow to this day.

Also famous for its advertisements, over the years Invicta has become the benchmark brand in the wood burning stove sector. In 2016, Invicta opened its pilot retail store in the heart of Paris, which showcases the brand's most emblematic wood burning products, and a lot more.

Optimizing, innovating and revolutionizing are the three watchwords at Invicta's R&D division. Some innovations conceived by Invicta, like the 'post combustion system' and 'reverse combustion' have greatly contributed to the optimization of energy performance.

'Post-combustion technology'- when primary combustion fumes, rich in Carbon Monoxide, are re-ignited in the combustion chamber by adding pre-heated oxygen. This re-ignition starts a second combustion and guarantees a high thermal output, along with a radical decrease in polluting emissions, optimizing operating costs.

The Air-Control technology, improve the user experience by providing better control of the burn rate.

Invicta continually improves the energy performance of its wood heating appliances, set in motion by creation of the Flamme Verte Label. The 6 or 7 start rating established in January 2015 encourages companies to manufacture environmentally friendly products. This means all stoves in the Invicta range are ready for the new UK Eco Design 2022 regulations.

A true innovator, Invicta revisited the wood burning stove, developing new, cleaner product lines that satisfy your sense of interior design, with a modern twist. This vision combines sleek design with accessibility, and is perfectly in tune with the times. Invicta's approach is part of what has come to be known as 'democratic design'. This approach is based on five pillars:

Form:

It is the quality of the line, and the sketch that makes the stove a complete aesthetic object. It adds style to any home. The stove becomes the heart of the home, and the central decorative element.

Function:

Invicta stoves are perfectly designed, not only in its aesthetic dimensions but, also in its functionality, performance, efficiency and usability guaranteed. They're ergonomic, that is to say, optimized for a natural and intuitive use.

Quality:

While remaining accessible, Invicta wood burning stoves have a level of quality which is recognised worldwide. They are made in France, in the Ardennes. The quality level is controlled at every stage to be unfaltering.

Sustainability:

From the stove's conception Invicta designers never lose sight of the sustainability of the appliance throughout its life cycle. The materials are recyclable, and the fuel is the most abundant source of renewable energy in France. Durability is an integral part of the design.

Affordable:

For Invicta, design is only meaningful if it is accessible to the greatest number of people. This has been our vocation for decades. Invicta is committed day to day to making this dream possible, so that everyone can afford the best in design and performance. Whatever your budget, you will find an Invicta stove with both excellent design and high performance, and watching it in your living room will be a daily joy.

Dimplex are here to support you with our expertise and an unmatched reputation for quality, reliability and safety. Welcome to a world of choice for heating and treating the air in your home.

Dimplex have used a unique state-of-the-art, patented technology in order to create the world's most realistic electric flame and smoke effect. Dimplex uses established ultrasonic technology in order to create an ultra-fine water mist. The mist rises up through the logs or coals, and when the light reflects against the water, it then creates a convincing illusion of flames and smoke.

An Opti-myst electric fire or stove is easy to install. When installing a gas fire, you need to consider flue and gas connection constraints, added to that, the cost of specialist installation and also the need for annual servicing. With the opti-myst electric fire many do not even require a fireplace. This fire is perfect for warming up your favourite room, all Dimplex opti-myst fires are 100% efficient at point of use, this also means that no heat is wasted.

The Dimplex range of elegant free-standing stove effect fires can bring warmth and realism to any room. With 1KW and 2KW heat selection, models also include opening doors to view the stunning effect in more detail.

They are also available as 'inset fires' with modern and traditional styles. The opti-myst inset fires are available with a choice of styles and finishes. These include brass, antique brass, chrome and black, these fires include 1KW and 2KW heat selection.

The Dimplex range is also available as wall mounted fires and Electric basket fires-these create a complete rustic open fireplace look.

Benefits of Electric Fires

The Opti-Myst range of electric fires and stoves by Dimplex are incredibly easy to install. They can be installed in a matter of minutes; just plug in the Dimplex electric fire into a 13amp socket and switch on.

As Dimplex fires do not require a chimney, flue, pipe-work, or even a fireplace, you can choose where to place it wherever you like in your home. Heat and flames are instantly available at the flick of a switch but, many Dimplex electric fires also come with a handy remote control, therefor you can adjust both heating and 'flame' effects from the comfort of your sofa.

When you have set a room to a comfortable temperature, Dimplex's room-sensing thermostat technology will constantly measure the ambient temperature and adjust the heating to eliminate inefficient and uncomfortable 'room temperature swing'.

All Dimplex Optiflame and Opti-myst fires are 100% efficient at point of use, so no heat is wasted helping to reduce your carbon emissions. Only Dimplex brings you the internationally recognised BEAB approval on all electric fires giving you the extra guarantee of safety.

Because Dimplex electric fires do not burn fuel internally to generate heat, there are none of the associated safety risks, such as Carbon Monoxide poisoning. You do not need to worry about regular servicing either- saving time and money.

Here at Stovesworld we are stockists of the Dimplex range. The Dimplex Opti-myst range will be available in our showroom from the 1st May 2018, for any further questions or advice please do not hesitate to contact us on 02921 152171.

Ecodesign ready Scheme

Ecodesign ready Scheme

The Ecodesign Ready Scheme is a new landmark in the increasing environmental benefits of wood burning stoves. Air quality is important to all of us. Even though wood burning stoves are a relatively low source of emissions, the SIA feel it is important to reduce emissions from wood burning stoves even further.

Ecodesign is a ground breaking EU regulation, which will become legal in the UK (and Ireland) in 2022. It sets much tougher minimum emission requirements for energy-related products which have an environmental impact, such as wood burning and multi fuel stoves.

Environmental scientists have identified pollutants that can have a negative impact on our health. One of the most high profile and widespread sources is diesel engines. Even though wood burning stoves are a relatively low source of emissions the SIA is committed to reducing the emissions from wood burning stoves even further.

Independent research conducted by Kiwa Gastec on behalf of the SIA has shown that modern clean burning stoves, designed to meet the new Ecodesign requirements will reduce particulate emissions by 90% compared to an open fire and 80-84% compared to an old stove.

Ecodesign is the European-wide programme to lower emissions. It is due to come into force in the UK in 2022. The main manufacturers in the SIA have decided to release stoves that will meet the lower emission limits now, and from 2020 to only manufacture wood burning stoves that meet the new Ecodesign criteria, two years ahead of schedule.

The Ecodesign Ready scheme is supported by DEFRA. The SIA  Ecodesign ready label will set the standard for the most environmentally friendly stoves available today. The official launch of the scheme will be on 28th February in the Houses of Parliament.

Stovesworld can now offer these Wood burning stoves to our customers for supply and installations. Give us a call today or call into Stovesworld to see and discuss our range.

I Cast Ellipse 5KW

The Ellipse has been designed as a classic stove with softer detailing than the other stoves in the ICast range. It's a timeless design in its elegant lines. The Ellipse boasts a design that works with both modern and traditional surroundings. The flowing curves of the plinth base accentuate a traditional look, therefor giving a rustic appearance.
